Okay. Mainit ang issue na ito dahil ang ginawang bottomline ng GMA, Vice is making fun of being gang-raped. Pero kung ia-analyze niyo yung context ng joke niya, it’s not the case. She’s making a joke out of Jessica Soho’s weight. It is NOT a gang rape joke.
At aminin nating lahat, we are all guilty of making fun of someone because of physical appearance.
Eto yung eksaktong sinabi ni Vice:
Pa’no kaya kung nag bold na rin si Jessica Soho? Ang launching niyang pelikula: Tinimbang Ka Ngunit Sobra!… Ang hirap nga naman si Jessica Soho pag nag bold, kailangan gang rape lagi!…
Okay na-gets niyo ba? Ang joke ay tungkol kay Jessica na sa sobrang taba, hindi kaya ng isang lalaki lang na partner sa sex scene. Kung papasok siya sa pagbo-bold, dapat ang sex scene niya lagi ay gang rape. Hindi ito tungkol sa gang rape as a violent act against unwilling victims.
Ipinagtatanggol ko ba si Vice Ganda? Hindi. Personally, ayoko ng mga stand up comedy na kailangan manlait ng iba para lang maging nakakatawa (pero minsan hindi ko talaga mapigilang tumawa). Kaya never ako pumasok sa comedy bars kasi alam ko trending ang mga lait jokes dun. Pero ang sinasabi ko lang tungkol sa isyung ito, OA ang reaksiyon ng publiko. At magaling ang GMA 7 dahil nagawa nilang ibahin ang context ng joke at iyon ang ipakain sa mga tao. Ang media nga naman.

When God sings a love song.
I’ve always been a huge Hillsong fan; their songs are words of worship i can never come up by myself and it gives me joy to sing them for Him. But what if we turn the tables around? Have you ever thought what it’s gonna feel like if it’s God who’ll sing a love song for us?
I got a glimpse of that incredible feeling when i was listening to the classic “Wonderful Tonight.” Although it’s obviously sang to a hot girl by her lover, the song’s bridge is two very romantic lines that doubled the butterflies in my stomach when i imagined the voice of God singing them for me:
And i feel wonderful because i see the love lights in your eyes,
And the wonder of it all is that you just don’t realize how much i love you.
Like, how can you resist God when He looks straight in to your eyes, and in a deep voice full of longing, says: “you just don’t realize how much I love you”? If you can just imagine your ultimate all-time super duper crush say that, i bet God can do way better! :)

It brought tears in my eyes to see long-haired, muscular, beefy men hug Nick after being inspired by his talk. These guys, whatever they did, had been given hope.
Nick will be speaking in Araneta Coliseum, Philippines tonight at 7:30 PM. I have a shift at 9 PM but this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and i'm thinking maybe i could be late for a couple of hours and hear what Nick has to say to me…

I sent an email application to Reed Elsevier yesterday after hearing from a friend that they have excellent working environment that will make you want to stay for the long term. Here’s what i said:
Subject: I don’t want to be a job hopper anymore.
Attachment: Gulmatico_CV.docxI want a career. I want to climb up the ladder. I want to be stable in a company like Reed, and I am very much hoping that you will read the rest of this email and give me the opportunity.
Let me introduce myself: my name is Melody and I’ve been with three call center companies since graduating from college five years ago. A personal situation has arisen recently requiring me to have a change of environment, and I figured I can take this chance to finally be with a company I can call my second home.
I am a Journalist by degree and Customer Service Representative by experience, and it is my ardent wish to be able to sit with you and discuss my career options. I personally want to undergo a series of qualification exams for your Content Editor and Customer Support Specialist positions and get some advice on whether or not the time is right for my degree or my experience to be an asset to Reed.
